Demolition of Subiaco Grandstands

Demolition of the Subiaco Grandstands and the surrounding infrastructure has now been completed, and the interim landscaping commenced in mid-January 2020. The demolition is one of the biggest demolitions of its kind in Western Australia.

Here are some interesting facts:

  • Over 100,000 tonnes of material was removed from the site;
  • 95% of all material will be reused or recycled; and
  • The heritage Subiaco Oval Gates and turnstiles have been retained;

    We are about to embark on the exciting phase of developing a Master Plan for the Subi East redevelopment area. This process will involve extensive community consultation and will build upon the Vision Concept that was released for Subi East in early 2019.

    We are inviting stakeholders and the community to share their stories and memories of Subi East - reflecting on bygone times. We are also keen to find out what the future version of Subi East looks like to the community and stakeholders.
